CUSCO`S STORY

CUSCO’s story began in 1977. Founded by Yuji Kasei—a rally racing enthusiast—alongside a few like-minded partners in Annaka City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, it started as a small racing workshop. From hand-tuning race cars for the “Mountain God” team to independently developing metal pillow-ball suspension mounts and Limited Slip Differentials (LSD), CUSCO quickly propelled the team to multiple victories in the All Japan Rally Championship. The founder once reflected: “The history of CUSCO Group D cars is the high-speed history of my automotive tuning career.”

In 1983, the workshop was officially renamed CUSCO and relocated to Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. The founder established a technical philosophy focused on chassis performance, introducing the forward-thinking concept that “chassis reinforcement takes precedence over power”—a principle that remains unchanged to this day. Over the past 50 years, CUSCO has evolved from the racetrack to the streets, from Japan to the global stage, becoming a trusted chassis specialist brand among performance enthusiasts.

In 2010, CUSCO officially entered the Chinese market, establishing CUSCO Automotive Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. to begin localized R&D and manufacturing. From a small workshop in Gunma to a smart manufacturing base in Shenzhen, CUSCO has remained focused on one mission: to make every car faster, more stable, and more fun through systematic chassis engineering.
